Fit4life Couch to 5K Programme

This is a beginners running programme in which our team of experienced leaders will bring you through structured training that will take you from walker to runner.

You do not need to be able to run to start this plan, but a realistic expectation is that you do need to have a very basic level of fitness to participate in our beginner C25K running programme i.e be able to walk briskly but comfortably for at least 3km and with no pre-existing injuries or health issues that will inhibit your training.

Programme Details

Location - Clane AC running track at Scoil Mhuire, Clane

Programme Duration - 7 weeks

Start Date - Monday, 9th January 2022

Schedule - Every Monday and Wednesday night with sessions starting at 20:00 sharp

Session Duration - Approximately 30-40 minutes

Each participant will receive a Clane AC High Vis vest

Cost - €50

Couch to 5km Training Information:

- Training consists of three training sessions a week for 7 weeks.

- Participants will be given a weekly training plan to follow over three sessions over the course of each week.

- Two of the sessions will be leader led club group runs at the track & then for the third training day, participants are to run on Friday/Weekend in their own time - either arrange it with others from the group, or run solo - your choice!

- A 5km graduation celebration run will be held at the end of the 7 weeks.
